Hi friends. It's a long weekend in Canada and of course here in Calgary it's pouring rain. I had so many glorious plans of cleaning up my garden, fixing our backyard from a recent excavation, and
helping watching my hubby build a new shed in our backyard. Ah well, these things can wait.
Life around here has been pretty crazy actually, so it'll be nice to have a quiet weekend to craft and watch movies. What's so crazy you ask? Well, as you probably know, we developed our basement at the end of last year and beginning of this year for my Stampin' Up! business. I have a pretty new office, stunning new studio for my classes, and a very itty bitty storage space - this is a problem. Now the rest of our house looks like an episode of hoarders, which is why we need this new shed so we can store some of this stuff. The clutter is making me pretty crazy. Ok, fast forward a month or so. The 90 foot retaining wall on one side of our property failed and our backyard was literally in the alley beside our house. I was STRESSED! So we called the fab contractors that developed our basement and they came to the rescue and replaced the retaining wall and fence. So now we fast forward one more month. There is a leak in our ensuite bathroom. Seriously. So it looks like we will have another home renovation just around the corner. Exciting as it is to have all these new spaces in our home and a brand new retaining wall, this stuff is expensive. It's been a few years since my hubby and I have had a vacation together and this summer we had plans to go back to Japan and do some more exploring of the beautiful country where my husband grew up. Sadly that's no longer and option and he will be going alone and I will be staying home. I do have my annual trip to Stampin' Up! Convention to look forward to though.
So why the rambling? Well, in the midst of all these crazy expensive things happening something pretty amazing started to happen too. As the months have rolled by and I've been working hard in my Stampin' Up! business, I've been getting closer and closer to earning the Stampin' Up! Grand Vacation. A Mediterranean Cruise! I'm not there yet, I still need $600 in sales, but I am SO CLOSE. I am ecstatic, and so thankful to each and every one of you that has chosen me as your demonstrator. Stampin' Up! truly is my passion and I love to share my creativity with you. All the stress of these crazy expenses around here seem to melt away every time I think of being able to tell my husband that I have earned a vacation for us that there is no way we could have afforded right now. It really means the world to me and I thank you for your part in making it happen. So like I said, I'm not there yet, but I have faith that I will get there soon and I'll keep you updated.
Ok, enough of the chatter. If you're still reading this, thank you. You're a die hard fan and I love you. Now let's look at something pretty.
This card is one that I've been forgetting to share for quite some time. It was featured on the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog earlier this year. I love the Butterfly Basics stamp set and the versatility it has. I've used it to create soft and pretty projects, but I'm loving it paired with bold and bright colours too!
To create that pretty heart I punched a piece of watercolour paper with the Sweetheart Punch and watercoloured it with my Aqua Painter and Real Red Ink. I really love the bold statement it adds.
Thanks so much my friends for all you do to support me in this job I love so much.
