June Stamp Club Projects

Our June Stamp Club meeting was alllllll about the new In Colours and masking.  There are many different techniques you can use that involve masking, so at club I showed them three of my favourites.

Here I used the leftover cardstock after you use the Big Shot Circles #2 die as my mask.  Here's what the die looks like so you can envision what I'm talking about:

Then I just used my sponge daubers and my ink pads apply colour to the cardstock beneath the mask.  With the selection of beautiful new In Colours, this card really turned into a stunner!  Then with the mask still in place, I stamped the detailed butterfly from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set on top of my sponged colour.  I LOVE the way it turned out!

Join me on the evening of Thursday, July 12th for a fun night of creating!  We're going to use the new Afternoon Daydream Simply Scrappin' Kit to make this beautiful flip flop scrapbook.  As you open one page after another, more and more flip open to reveal a total 14 pages that are ready for your photographs, mementos, and journaling.  You'll also go home with a full set of instructions so you can recreate this project again and again!

Hilton Head, here I come!!!!

I'm SO excited!  As of 10pm last night, I earned the Stampin' Up! Weekend Getaway Trip to Hilton Head Island!  The only way this has all happened is from the love and support of my wonderful customer friends, my outstanding uplines, and my amazing downline.  A huge thank you to everyone.

When I started this journey as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator 3 years ago I never imagined that I'd be going on an all expenses paid trip from Stampin' Up!  Heck, I just signed up to get the Starter Kit!  The sky really is the limit with this fabulous company!

Simple Stunner

I can't believe it's almost the end of June!  How did that happen?  I'm still feverishly working towards earning the Stampin' Up! Weekend Getaway to Hilton Head Island.  There's only 4 days left in the Stampin' Up! year so I have all my fingers and toes crossed that I can do it!  I've had lots of my customer friends ask me what they can do to help, and that really makes me feel great.  Your support truly is appreciated. Today's card is what I call a simple stunner.  Not a lot of technical difficulty here, but the beautiful Brushed Silver paper in combination with the silver heat embossed images makes it stunning!

Easy Events Baby Girl Tag

Last week I attended my friend Brittany's baby shower.  The theme was Pearls, Lace and Everything Pink, SO CUTE!  I gave her a really cute hooded duck towel and some other baby bath goodies, so of course I HAD to make a matching tag.  

The Easy Events stamp set is one that is super versatile.  There are images for so many events that they make tags and cards come together easily.

Want to try a fun technique?  Try paper piecing!  Just stamp your image multiple times on different coloured cardstocks.  Then get to work with your scissors and cut out the pieces you need for your finished image.  I used Tangerine Tango for the beak, Daffodil Delight for the ducky body, Pretty in Pink for the duck's had, and Melon Mambo for her umbrella.  A super cute way to add another dimension to your creations.

LOVING Summer Starfruit!

I will be the first to admit that when I first saw Summer Starfruit in the new Stampin' Up! catalogue I was a little worried.  As demonstrators, the first time we see the catalogue is online, so I wasn't totally sure what the colour would actually be like when it arrived at my door.  Oh my goodness was I WOWED!  I LOVE it!!!!  It's trendy, it's fun, it's funky, and it's BEAUTIFUL!

I (Heart) Primrose Petals

Elegant Butterfly Meets Papillon Potpourri

Happy Tuesday friends!  Does this card look familiar?  This is the 'next level' version of the card I showcased yesterday on my blog.  (You can see that one HERE)  I really love the new Elegant Butterfly Punch, but I REALLY love it when it's combined with the Papillon Potpourri stamp set!  Co-ordinating stamps and punches are my weakness (and everything else too!).  

The detail in these butterflies is amazing!  So delicate and intricate.  A stunner I tell you!  I think they look super pretty coloured in here with a blender pen and the 2011-2013 in-colours.

Elegant Butterfly Punch

I'm in LOVE!  Yes, I know, AGAIN!  But it's so easy to fall in love over and over again with all the new products from Stampin' Up!  This time it's the Elegant Butterfly Punch!

It's SO pretty!  And it was so super easy to create these amazing butterflies.  I just punched two pieces from each designer paper, stuck one down onto my postage stamp, and then folded the second one a little along the body and then adhered it with some Tombow to the first.  A super simple WOW!  And look ma, no stamps!

Take 2: Lovely As a Tree for Father's Day

 Did you visit my blog yesterday?  Are you thinking, ummm Allison, that's the same card!  Don't worry, I haven't gone crazy, it's not the same card.  :)  At my workshop yesterday I wanted to show the ladies how a few small changes can take a simple card to the 'next level' very easily.

This is the 'simple' version.

Both cards are lovely, but slightly different.  The 'next level' card has some heat embossing in black, which really gives the woodgrain background and the oak tree more definition, making the card more dramatic.  I also sponged the Very Vanilla cardstock with some Crumb Cake ink, and distressed the edges for some added texture and visual interest.  Small details can take your card from simply wonderful, to next level WOW!

Lovely As a Tree for Father's Day

Happy Saturday friends!  I hope you have a great weekend ahead.  I was lucky to spend Friday night with a nice group of ladies at a workshop, and I'm headed off early this afternoon for another one!  I LOVE workshops because it's always SO fun to meet new people and introduce them to the wonderful world of Stampin' Up!
