Exploring Savannah

Where to start!  We flew into Savannah on Tuesday night to begin our adventure.  We chose to book a few extra days at the beginning so we could explore the city of Savannah before heading off to Hilton Head.  I am SO happy we did!  I absolutely LOVE Savannah!  We stayed at the amazing, historic, and apparently haunted Marshall House.  So beautiful.

After a quick dinner in a burger place we went for a short stroll around the historic district.  We happened upon this great icecream place called Leopold's.  I loved it's old charm.

The next day was unbelievable!  We started out with an unforgettable lunch at Mrs.Wilkes' Boardinghouse.  It was family style seating and they loaded the table with all sorts of dishes.  From fried chicken to collard greens, this meal was some serious southern cooking.

Check out the lineup there was when we left!!!

We spent the afternoon riding an on/off trolley tour around the city.  With so much to see, and only one day, it was the perfect way to explore.

That evening we went for dinner on the river in an old cotton warehouse called the Cotton Exchange.  We both ordered the Shrimp and Grits, and it was ridiculously good!  Sadly I forgot to take a picture of my food, but if you're in Savannah you have to eat here and get the Shrimp and Grits!

After dinner we went on a Ghosts and Haunts tour.  It was ok, but not as spooky as I thought it would be.  We did go by some beautiful places and even checked out the cemetery.

That was Tuesday of our trip.  Wednesday was equally as amazing!  We started the day by swinging by Wormsloe.  We didn't tour around, but the trees on the way in were well worth the trip.  Absolutely stunning.

We then spent most of the afternoon exploring Tybee Island.  Beautiful beaches!

And now we're in Hilton Head!  The resort is amazing and the beach is just as beautiful!  And we got our first pillow gift!!!!  Check out our awesome new bag on my Facebook Page!  Make sure you 'like' it so you don't miss any Hilton Head news!

Happy Stampin'
