Baskets & Blooms Die Christmas Style

Hi Everyone,

Thank you so much to those that showed their concern for me yesterday.  Your kindness is very much appreciated.  After being awake for only an hour in the morning yesterday, I went back to bed and slept until 2:30 in the afternoon!  I guess I really did need the rest!  When I did wake up, I was still feeling like I wanted a quiet day, so I spent it creating some projects for my blog this week.

There are only 2 more days to take advantage of the ONLINE SPECTACULAR SALE!  I LOVE the Baskets and Blooms Die for the BIG SHOT, and I was thrilled to see it in the sale.  It's one of my favs, so I thought I'd show you a quick and easy giftwrapping option for the holiday season using this awesome die.  I also used the Elegant Lines Embossing Folder to add some beautiful detail, and some Shimmer Paint for some super fine sparkle.  I made the holly with the Wide Oval Punch and the 1" Circle Punch, and I just had to sponge the edges with some Always Artichoke Ink.  The holly berry is one of the Deck the Halls Big Buttons threaded with some Linen Thread.  The sentiment is from the Winter Post Stamp Set

Look at the inside...

Perfect size for some jewelry, chocolates, or gift card!

If you are falling in love with this project then you'll want to head over to the online store and get this die for 30% off, now only $37.77!!!

The Craft Sale

Hi Everyone!

I hope you are enjoying a lazy and relaxing Sunday, as I sit here in my jammies contemplating whether I will actually get dressed into real clothes today.  I will admit that I need a little bit of a break, some down time, time to just be.  So I've decided that today is that day.  I got some very sad news yesterday when I returned home from the craft fair, so I think I need a little time to process that.  I hope you'll be understanding and know that I will be back tomorrow with a project to show you, but today is a little bit of a day off.

Although I finished yesterday with some sad news, I did have a fantastic time at the craft sale!  I met some new people in my community - hi Shannon, Gail, Suzanne, Heather, Debbie, Amanda, Avery, Malka, and Melissa!  We chatted about cardmaking and scrapbooking, the BIG SHOT and MDS, classes and clubs.  It was so nice to meet some new ladies, and I hope to see you all soon at some of my classes or other events.

Whoa, did I sell cards.  I sold LOTS of cards.  I had two big bins of cards when I arrived, and I carried only one bin home with me.
I am so pleased!  I also sold lots of fabric flower pins.  At $3 and $5 they were great for small co-worker gifts, stocking stuffers, and for just a little something for yourself!  They were posted on my blog what seems like a long time ago, so here's a reminder:

I had a really great time at the sale, and I can't wait to do it all again next year!

Happy Stampin'

PS  I have my last order of the month going in this afternoon.  If you're in Calgary and want to take advantage of the fantastic Online Spectacular, please call  or email me before 3pm.

As your business partner, we want to make you aware of this situation so you can work with your customers to place orders before supplies are gone. Please let your customers know that if Candy Cane Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper is not available, we have other beautiful holiday alternatives: Jolly Holiday (item 117159) and Deck the Halls (item 120810).

November Stamp Club

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for stopping by today.  I am really excited to share the projects from Stamp Club this month, as I think this was one of my most favourite meetings with the girls!  It's been bitterly cold here in Calgary (like -38 with the wind chill).  So I made some hot chocolate, Morgan brought some Christmas-y snacks, and we snuggled together in my Stamp Room to make these holiday projects.

I think this first card is just SO adorable.  Who couldn't love it with that cute little penguin standing on the glittery snow, with the candy cane paper in the background?  This is pure cute Chrismas!
Supplies:  Owl Punch, Many Merry Messages stamp set, Confetti stamp set, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Scallop Trim Punch, Candy Cane designer series paper
Colour Combo:  Baja Breeze, Real Red, Whisper White, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie

This next project was totally inspired by one of the make-n-takes from the Stampin' Up! convention I attended in July.  The folder that holds the 3 x 3 notecards and envelopes is actually made from one of the Small Open Ended Envelopes.
It holds the 3 x 3 notecards on one side, and the co-ordinating envelopes on the other side.  I think these are going to be a hot seller this weekend at the craft fair!
Supplies:  Short & Sweet stamp set, Deck the Halls designer series paper, Deck the Halls designer big buttons, Linen Thread, Large Star Punch, Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch. Small Open Ended Envelopes, Mini Square Envelopes
Colour Combo:  Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Always Artichoke, Soft Seude

This last project features the technique I taught this month, Reflection stamping.  There is a great tutorial HERE if you'd like to try it for yourself.  I also want to point out that I was highly inspired by Michelle Zindorf as this card is only slightly different from the one shown on her blog.  Her work is AMAZING, and I highly recommend stopping by her blog.
Supplies:  Season of Friendship stamp set, Winter Post stamp set, Lovely as a Tree stamp set, Many Merry Messages stamp set, Silver Glass Glitter
Colour Combo:  Riding Hood Red, Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Whisper White, Basic Black

I hope you enjoyed the projects this month because I sure had fun creating and then teaching them!  Want to come learn with us?  Email me at nicepeoplestamp@hotmail.com for details!

Another amazing deal on one of the fantasic BIG SHOT dies that I LOVE...the Baskets & Blooms Die is only $37.77 at 30% off

Last year I taught a class with this adorable advent calendar that was a HUGE hit!  The little drawers are actually 24 matchboxes adhered together!  Once you have this die this project is SUPER easy to create!  With the Matchbox Die at 30% off for only $40.57, you really can't miss out!

I hope you enjoyed re-visiting some of my projects from the past.  It sure was fun for me to look through my pictures and remember some forgotten stuff.  Remember, this sale ends November 30th, so don't delay, head to my Online Store.

Online Spectacular SALE - Up to 50% off!

Exciting news!!!  The ONLINE SPECTACULAR sale begins today and it is truly spectacular!  For 9 days only, November 22-30, save up to 50% on special bundles or products, like 50% off My Digital Studio and Designer Fabric!  PLUS, free shipping on ONLINE orders of $200 or more!

Click here to see the flyer with all the discounted products listed.  And then click HERE to go SHOPPING!!!

So with this SPECTACULAR sale on the designer fabric (and SO much more), I thought I better show you some uses for that dreamy stuff!

I made this card last night after my Stamp Club girls went home.  I used the Deck the Halls designer fabric to wrap my 'present' and then tied off a knot to secure it in the middle.  The sentiment is from the Welcome Christmas stamp set (such a beautiful bunch of images in this set!).  And I couldn't resist using the BIG SHOT, of course, so I embossed my card front with the Petals-a-plenty folder.  My chosen colours are Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla.

And although I've shared this Christmas ornament before, I just couldn't resist sharing it again!  I love it!  There are so many uses for this fabulous fabric, and at 50% off it's an AMAZING value!

Some FYI for the sale:

- There is no minimum purchase required to participate in the discounted products promotion.

Lovely as a Tree & lots of sponging

Hi Everyone!

Last night I was toying around in my stamp room, playing with some ideas for Stamp Club this coming Sunday.  While trying out a few things I ended up making this really simple card.  I had just about every ink pad out while sponging the sky because I just couldn't decide on the look I wanted to go for.  But in the end I settled on Crumb Cake, Certainly Celery, Blushing Bride, and a hint of Bashful Blue.  The water is Bashful Blue also, just sponged at a different intensity.  The Lovely as a Tree stamp set has been around for AGES, but for good reason...it's amazing!  I love the beautiful serene images in this set.  Oh, and if you're wondering where that little reindeer came from, it's in the Winter Post stamp set

Well, I'm off to work today and then to a Christmas party tonight.  Maybe I'll give the hostess my pretty new card!

Welcome Christmas w/ Deck the Halls DSP

Hi Everyone!

I recently borrowed the Welcome Christmas stamp set from my friend Kristine and before I (reluctantly) sent it back to her, I stamped some images that I could make into cards, which I did tonight!  Today at work a co-worker mentioned that she is feeling particularly Christmas-y this year, so I thought I'd make her an early Christmas card to give her tomorrow!  She also mentioned that her boyfriend needs to go to the store (GASP!) and buy (DOUBLE GASP!) a Christmas card for his Mom...I hope he chooses to send her this one instead!

So Cute 3 x 3 Notes & some FAQ

Hi Everyone!

I had a busy day today with lots going on, so I thought I'd whip up a quick set of 3 x 3 notecards with the So Cute stamp set.  And you know what?...they're so cute!

Wow, Stampin' Up! sure knows how to impress!  I have been on the phone today with numerous different ladies talking about the 1/2 price starter kits, and EVERYONE wants to get their hands on one!   Some questions that many of the ladies asked today are probably things that everyone is wondering about, so let me do a little Q & A today...

1. Can I sign up to be a demonstrator just to get the starter kit?  Absolutely!  There is no obligation to become an active demonstrator if you don't want to.

2. What is the discount I would get on Stampin' Up! products once I become a demonstrator?  20% income on all purchases.  So you'd get 20% off things you buy for yourself, and earn 20% of what you sell.  (it is possible to earn MUCH more, give me a call if you're interested in the detailed income breakdown)

3.  What are the minimum sales you have to have to remain a demonstrator?  $400 retail value per quarter.  All new demonstrators that sign up during the 1/2 price kits promotion will have until March 31st to meet this goal.  You may even be surprised that you can keep that coveted demonstrator discount by collecting orders from your family and friends to meet your minimums.

4.  What happens if I can't meet my minimum sales?  Stampin' Up! will send you an email to tell you that you have gone into pending status.  They will give you a grace period to get your sales in order.  If after this grace period you cannot meet your sales goal, you will be 'dropped' as a demonstrator.

5.  If I get dropped as a demonstrator, do I have to give back my starter kit?  Do I owe anything to Stampin' Up!?  No and no. You keep all the contents of your starter kit.  This really is a no obligation opportunity!

I hope that answers some of the questions that you may have.  This truly is the deal of all deals, so if you are at all inclined to purchase anything from Stampin' Up! in the next two weeks, I recommend the amazing starter kit!  Only $107.50!  Give me a call (403) 512-0549, or send me an email if you'd like me to contact you.  nicepeoplestamp@hotmail.com

Gingerbread House!

Hi Everyone!

So I know this isn't exactly stamping related, but I just HAD to show you my gingerbread house that I made at work this week!  I am really enjoying my new job, as I finally have time to do things like this!  Here's a side view:
I nearly went cross-eyed piping all the little royal icing dots on everything, but it was TOTALLY worth it.  I am a firm believer in the fine little details!

Once the rest of the display is assembled and lit up I'll post some more pictures.  Thanks for letting me gush about my first gingerbread house!

Tree Trimmings 3 x 3

Hi Everyone!

If you can believe it, I'm STILL making 3 x 3 notecards for the upcoming New Brighton Craft Sale!  I wish I could have captured a better picture so you could really see the pretty shimmer paint I used on my sentiment and the ornament.  Sometimes my photography really has its limitations!  I really love how these little notecards come together so quickly, but are a fabulous addition to a present that is more personal than a simple tag.  I hope to have a large selection at the craft sale!

Stampin' Up! Supplies:
Stamp sets:  Tree Trimmings, Four the Holidays, Northern Hearts
Ink:  Bashful Blue, Real Red Re-inker, Frost White Shimmer Paint
Cardstock:  Bashful Blue, Whisper White
Embellishments:  Rhinestones, Silver Cord

I'll see you tomorrow!  I can't wait to show you my completed gingerbread house!!!!

Growing Green

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for stopping by today.  I thought I'd reach into my stash of swaps from convention this year and show you a simple, but beautiful, sample I received.  I actually have decided to CASE this one and make some gift sets of blank cards to sell at the New Brighton Craft Sale on November 27th.  The Growing Green stamp set was on my first order when the new catalogue was released because I think you can do SO much with clean and simple line drawn images...plus I'm totally a sucker for any stamp set that has a matching DSP, this one is Woodland Walk.  Oh, and I love that Log Cabin Smooch Spritz!  It totally adds some extra pizzazz!

Edmonton Crafting Weekend

Hi Everyone!

Wow, what a weekend!  I taught four Stampin' Up! crafting classes this weekend in Edmonton and had the time of my life!  Everyone was so enthusiastic and creative, it was a true pleasure to be there.  There were 12 ladies on Saturday when we made an adorable 'jingle' mantle banner in the morning, and a set of 12 Christmas cards in the afternoon.  Then we had 10 people on Sunday doing a set of 10 notecards in the morning, and the desktop calendar in the afternoon.  It was a crazy action packed weekend, but so very fun!  5am sure did come early this morning though!

Thanks to everyone who came and took part.  It makes me so happy to see everyone creating and socializing together while I can teach and demonstrate.  This is the best job ever!

Peaceful Season - Hostess Level 2

Hi Everyone!

Is is just me, or are the two new hostess sets in the Holiday Mini Catalogue AWESOME or what?!?  The one I used on this card here is called Peaceful Season and I think it's so so very beautiful.  The sentiments are curly swirly cursive, and the images are bold but vintagey (that's a word isn't it?).  I topped it off with some of that thick lush striped grosgrain ribbon, this Riding Hood Red ribbon can be found on the CLEARANCE RACK for only $2.49!!!!

So I'm off to Edmonton today!  Going to have an amazing time with my crafty girls there I'm sure!  I can't wait!!!!  Leaving the dog and husband at home so I can CREATE (well, more teach than create but you get the idea...)

Happy Stampin'
Allison

PS I will try and post over the weekend, but I don't know that I'm going to be able to squeeze it in to an already PACKED weekend.  I will do my best!

Hi Everyone!

If you think you might recognize this card, it may be because it's a case of a card I made last Christmas!  I changed it up this year by using the super cute Candy Cane Christmas designer series paper and the co-ordinating Candy Cane Big Buttons.  The little strings for the ornaments come from the Tree Trimmings stamp set, which also has beautiful images of vintage looking ornaments as well (go HERE to check it out).  The sentiment comes from the Grateful Greetings stamp set, one I almost didn't buy, but I use it ALL the time, so I'm super glad I got it.

On the new job front, things are going well.  I really like the people I work with and the job itself is challenging me in new ways, which is good.  I started making a gingerbread post office yesterday, so I can't wait to do some more work on it!  I think it's going to turn out really cute!

Thanks everyone for stopping by, I really appreciate your support.

October Stamp Club - Criss Cross Card

Hi Everyone!

Sorry for the delay, I almost forgot to post the last card we did at Stamp Club in October.  I created this card to showcase the versatility of the Tags 'til Christmas Bundle that's on SALE right now.  The Tags 'til Christmas stamp set is for SOOOOOOO much more than just tags!  The Deck the Halls designer series paper is also part of another bundle, so if you love it like I do, be sure to check out all those fantastic bundles HERE (be sure to scroll through all the pages).  Oh, we can't forget the Northern Frost Die to make those delicate beautiful snowflakes with the BIG SHOT!

I love these criss cross cards!

My Birthday Dinner

Hi Everyone!

Thanks to everyone who emailed me for my birthday yesterday!  I had a nice relaxing day with my husband, followed by an amazing dinner he made for me, topped off with a birthday cake a la Angela!
Mmmmm....greek salad, no olives.  Just how I like it!

Grilled lamb rack w/ lyonaise potatoes & au jus....I am drooling looking at this picture!

Chocolate cake w/ chocolate icing & candy corn!  How festive!

I'm a very lucky girl, with a fabulous group of friends and family! Thanks everyone!
