HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!
Hi Everyone!
Happy Halloween! Sorry I skipped a day in my posting, the weekend just seemed to get away from me somehow! I guess this is going to be my last Halloween card of the year...so sad. I love Halloween and I don't want it to be over! BUT, this year I will have lots of Halloween pictures of my nephew Thoren to scrapbook (are you listening Zoe?), so I'll still have that Wicked Fun designer series paper out for weeks and months to come I'm sure.
So what does everyone have planned for the day? What are you and the kids dressing up as? Do you trick or treat? Decorate? I love to hear what everyone does on Halloween!
Happy Haunting!

An Amazing New Business
Hi Everyone!
I want to share with you the launch of a new business here in Calgary, Glass Slipper Designs. My friend Erin is the design genius behind the website as well as the handcrafted cards, stationary, favours, tags....the list is endless. She's a fabulous creative soul, so if you're in the market for some upscale, unique, and truly beautiful items I highly suggest contacting her. It's not always possible to make your wedding invites yourself due to difficulties with time restrictions, so let her come to your rescue! Check out her website: http://glassslipperdesigns.webs.com/

Hi Everyone!
Today's card is SUPER simple. So so so so so very simple that I think this may be another mass production card for me to put into action. There's a little bit of colouring and cutting, but those are two of my fave things to do!
We made this card at Stamp Club this month and I like how it showcases the Candy Cane Christmas designer series paper and the co-ordinating A Cute Christmas stamp set. This is a great set because there are lots of smaller images, good for both cards as well as gift tags. We also brought out the BIG SHOT and the Texturz Plates, love that embossed checkerboard!
Stamp Club is a ton of fun, so if you'd like to join us next month please email me so I can forward you the details!

October Stamp Club Technique
Hi Everyone!
Last night I had the girls over for our October edition of Stamp Club. I showed them how to incorportate something as simple as household bleach into their crafting with this cute card. (Click on the picture to read the instructions for bleach stamping). I learned something tonight too! There must be something in bleach that evaporates over time and makes it less effective. I had made a bleach pad on Sunday, covered it up, and then wanted to use it again tonight...but it didn't work! I discarded the old one (which was still really wet and juicy) and then started over and everything worked perfectly! Learn something new every day....
I used the bleach to stamp the snowflakes on the Real Red cardstock. Then we added some pretty handmade embellishments from the Newsprint designer series paper, and this fabulous stamped image and sentiment from the Winter Post stamp set. I know I say this about a lot of things...but Winter Post is one of my FAVE sets! The colour combo is a big hit with me too...Real Red, Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, and a small hint of Crumb Cake.
I hope you enjoyed today's card, and I'll 'see' you again tomorrow!

Criss Cross Card - A Cute Christmas
Hi Everyone!
I'm pleased to say that the first day at my new job yesterday went very well. I was so nervous I thought I was going to puke in the car on the way there, but once I got my uniform on I felt right at home. Phew...
Tonight at Stamp Club the cardmakers are making a criss cross card (not this one though). I really like how it totally showcases the beautiful Cane Cane designer series paper. And we all know that I can't use that paper without inking up the co-ordinating A Cute Christmas stamp set. I really like how the criss cross creates a pocket to hold an insert of cardstock, and you could even add a picture too!
Perfect for Christmas cards and family photos!

Northern Hearts - Hostess Level 1 Set
Hi Everyone!
So today's the day! First day of my new job. I am excited, but very very nervous as well. I haven't been 'the new girl' in a looooooong time, so I have all sorts of worries this morning. Please send me some happy thoughts to help me get through these jitters!
Isn't this little 3 x 3 notecard adorable?!?! I got the Northern Hearts stamp set (hostess level 1) with my last order, so I thought I'd break out some new rubber and get it all inky and dirty! I think I'm going to do some marathon stamping when I get home from work (that sounds weird) and make a bunch of these notecards for the upcoming New Brighton Craft Fair. It just turned out so cute that I want to mass produce!
Have a great day!

Welcome Kendra!
Hi Everyone!
This is my table from the Home Biz Fair that I attended yesterday in the NW. There wasn't alot of action, BUT drumroll please.....Welcome to the team Kendra!!!! Kendra was also a vendor at the fair, and I could hear her say when she came in 'where's the Stampin' Up! girl?' She was a woman on a mission for some high quality crafting supplies to make her Christmas cards, but once we got chatting and I told her about the awesome value in the Starter Kit, she signed up to be a Demonstrator! Congratulations Kendra! You are going to LOVE all the perks that being a Demonstrator will bring you!
Stampin' Up! has changed my life in so many ways. I have an income that I can save for vacations, use to pay bills, or go shopping. I have the flexibility to work when I want, and have time off when I need it. But the most valuable part of becoming a demonstrator for me is the friendships I have gained. My best friends are stamping friends as we have tons in common and are passionate about the same thing.
If you are looking for a change, want products at a discount, or want to make some extra $. The Starter Kit is only $215 and it has a value of over $375, not to mention that it's totally customizable so you can get the products you really want! Give me a call and we can talk about becoming a demonstrator. Already know you want to join? Go HERE and click the 'join now' button on the left side of the page. My password is: nicepeoplestamp
Welcome to the team Kendra! We're lucky, and happy to have you!

Winter Post
Hi Everyone!
Thanks for stopping by today. I have been really busy since I returned home from my vacation. Yesterday I cut paper almost all day for some of my upcoming classes, then I had the Desktop Calendar Class in the evening (Jen I hope you're feeling better), and then I was busy tying up loose ends for the Edmonton Craft Weekened in November! Phew...I wish I could say I have some rest ahead of me, but I am going to see a member of my downline this morning, then I have a Home Business Fair on Saturday, and Stamp Club on Sunday and Tuesday! Oh, and I'm starting a new job on Monday! Yikes! I'm nervous to start at a new place, as I haven't been 'the new girl' in almost 7 years. Please everyone send me some happy thoughts when you wake up on Monday morning.
I bet you're just about done with my babbling! So let's get to that card! I made it quite some time ago and was going to enter it in a contest, but never got around to getting it in the mail. Oh well, I really like it, so I'm going to save it for someone special this Christmas. I used that oh so fabulous Winter Post stamp set, three images from the same set actually. I've also used the Northern Frost Die with the BIG SHOT (you've got to get this!!!!) for those adorable little snowflakes. My patterned paper is from the Deck the Halls designer series paper and the cardstock is Baja Breeze. I hope you like it!

I'm Baaaaaack....
Hi Everyone!
I'm finally back! I've actually been on vacation for the last 10 days! First I went to see my sister and my brand new baby nephew, and then it was off to Las Vegas for 5 days of fun! My new nephew Thoren is so so so cute that I can't even believe it. He is such a good little baby too. I don't even think he cried once the whole time I was there. I also had a chance to see my Dad's as well as my Mom's sides of the family, so that was really nice. Then I was off to Las Vegas, possibly my favourite place to visit in the US. I am totally a night owl, so the 'city that never sleeps' is right up my alley. We had dinner one night at the fantastic and beautiful Micheal Mina in the Bellagio. It was my third visit to the restaurant, and I was certainly not disappointed. We also spent a day by the pool drinking pina coladas, a Vegas favourite for me.
I'm home now, but just playing a little bit of catch up in regards to my emails and class prep, so please bear with me that I don't have a project to show you today. I'll be back with something tomorrow.

Welcome Christmas
Hi Everyone!
While at convention this year I received a swap that was very similar to this and totally loved! I decided to case that card for a Christmas Card Stamp-a-Stack I am having in Edmonton on Saturday, November 6th. I think that the Welcome Christmas stamp set is so classic and beautiful that I just had to use it! And that gold embossing powder is always a crowd pleaser. Shiny things ladies... :) Sadly, I don't know who made the original card, as it didn't have any contact info on it.
I'm getting very excited to take this show on the road and head up to Edmonton for November 6th and 7th. If you're interested in attending the classes I will be hosting, please send me an email to nicepeoplestamp@hotmail.com and I will get all the registration info to you. On Saturday morning we're making the JINGLE banner that was on my blog a few days ago, followed by the Christmas Card Stamp-a-Stack in the afternoon. On Sunday we're starting out with a beautiful set of 10 notecards with a co-ordinating box and then finishing off the weekend with the Desktop Calendar. Each day is $50 for both projects, and includes lunch. The whole weekend is only $100! I hope you'll join me!

Guest Blogger - Niki!
Hi Everyone!
I am so excited to share with you a card I recently received in the mail from my cousin Niki. Isn't it adorable?! She's a super talented crafter with fantastic ideas, and this was such a nice surprise in my mailbox! She used the Scallop Circle Punch for the spider's little body and the Photo Corners Punch for his little spidy legs! The eyes and nose are a selection of Circle Punches.
Thanks Niki!

Senior's Card Class
Hi Everyone!
I thought I'd share another card with you from the Senior's Card Class I will be teaching in November! This one focuses on using Blender Pens to colour an image, in this case the 'Merry Christmas' from the Christmas Postcard single stamp. I love using StazOn ink for applications like this because it is permanent and dries very quickly. So the ladies can colour in the image without worrying about having the black ink bleed or smear. If you don't have some StazOn in your stash, then you're totally missing out. It's a must have in my opinion!

Classy Christmas
Hi Everyone!
First off, I'd like to thank everyone who booked workshops with me yesterday during the Stampin' Up! Book-a-thon! I'm so excited to start planning the projects for your workshops!
Now let's get some details on that card...
I am teaching some senior's card classes November 9th and 12th here in Calgary, and this is one of the projects that we will be creating. I love the classic and classy colours: Always Artichoke and Bravo Burgundy. I used the Delightful Decorations stamp set for my ornaments and the starburst image, and then the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set for the sentiment. Of course I'm going to want to teach them how to use my fav tool...the BIG SHOT, so I added some polka dot embossing too! I'm very excited to meet some new ladies and share the Stampin' Up! love! To register please contact the Parkdale Nifty Fifties Organization at 403-283-0620. See you there!

Book-a-Thon!
Stampin' Up! has issued a challenge and I'm up for the game! Today is the Book-a-Thon and all demonstrators have been challenged to contact their customers and ask them to book workshops. We have a goal to reach, 5000 workshops booked in one day, soooo....your house may just be my next call! If we reach our goal, demonstrators get a free stamp set. Woo hoo!
So why book a workshop with me? Why help me out? Well, I'm going to sweeten the already awesome hostess benefits! Everyone who books a workshop today during the book-a-thon will receive a free jar of the new Silver Glass Glitter at their workshop.
Also, all hostesses will be entered to win a free pass to my JINGLE Banner Class ($20 value). Can't attend the class? I'll make you the banner myself!
So I hope I've tempted you to host a Stampin' Up! workshop with me. I don't know that I'm going to have enough time in the day to call everyone, so if you don't want to miss out on the free Glass Glitter and chance to win the Jingle Banner Class, call or email me! I look forward to planning a fantastic Stampin' Up! workshop with you!
Burnin' up the phone lines today...

JINGLE Banner
Please click on the photo to enlarge
TA DA! Isn't this adorable?! I am so so so so so in love with this banner that I can't contain myself! No really, I LOVE IT!!!!
The 'jingle' is all sparkled and blinged up with the new Glass Glitter from the Holiday Mini Catalogue. AND, when you attend this class, you will receive your very own jar of Glass Glitter to use on your project and then have the remainder to take home with you. The 'jingle' uses less than a 1/4 of the glitter, so you'll have tons left for more sparly fancy projects!
This class will be offered on Saturday, November 6th in Edmonton. Calgary date to follow.
I really hope you'll join me!

Non-traditional Christmas Card
Hi Everyone!
Isn't this so cute?! It's another one of Kristine's creations of course! She really spoiled us at our demonstrator meeting! This card uses the Holiday Happiness stamp set, new this year in the Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalogue. I love the clean and simple lines of this stamp set, and paired with the non-traditional colours it kind of looks retro to me. 80's...but in a good way! So what's that fun and funky colour combo? Pacific Point, Garden Green, Real Red, and Daffodil Delight. LOVE IT!!!

World Cardmaking Day - Stampin' Up! Style
Did you know that the first Saturday in October is World Cardmaking Day? Well, today's the day and it's going to be fabulous!
I really wanted my card for today to be a WOW, so I kept piling on the layers of fabric and ribbon, and cardstock and designer series paper until it was so thick and heavy it's going to cost me a fortune to send! I think this card needs to hit a Weight Watchers meeting for sure! I even stuffed the little dove and handstitched him to be puffy like a stuffed animal. Like I said, this one's THICK!
This card has so much going on I'm going to list the products you'll need to order when you want to reproduce your own.
- Christmas Postcard Single Stamp
- Deck the Halls Designer Series Paper
- Deck the Halls Designer Fabric
- Vintage Trinkets
- Antique Brads
- Chantilly 1/2" Crochet Trim
- Crumb Cake Cardstock
- Cherry Cobbler Cardstock
- Stampin' Sponge
- Classic Inks/Markers: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler, So Saffron
- Blender Pen
- Top Note Die
- Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder
- BIG SHOT
You should have seen this place while I was creating! WHOA! It looked like a hurricane wind came through here!
Celebrate World Cardmaking Day and make a WOW card for someone special.

Fun with Re-inkers
Hi Everyone!
I'm sorry that I couldn't post these instructions yesterday! The internet at our house was touch and go at best, so by the time I had my post typed out the internet would go out again and I'd lose my work. So sorry for the delay, but certainly better late than never!
At the September Stamp Club meetings we did some fun techniques with Stampin' Up! Re-inkers. The shaving cream technique is always a crowd pleaser, so be sure to give it a try!
You will need to order Basic Black Re-inker, Old Olive Re-inker, and Frost White Shimmer Paint. You will also need some shaving cream (not gel) as well as a tray or plate.
Dispense an area of shaving cream that is bigger than the piece of paper you plan to use and use your fingers or a scraper to flatten the top. Then, using your Basic Black and Old Olive Re-inkers as well as your Frost White Shimmer Paint, add a few drops of each to your tray of shaving cream.
Using the tip of a skewer or toothpick, swirl the drops of re-inker in the shaving cream.
Gently place a piece of Whisper White Cardstock in the shaving cream and push it onto the surface to be sure it comes in contact with all of the shaving cream.
Remove your paper from the shaving cream and place on a paper towel. Use an additional paper towel to remove the excess shaving cream from your paper. I like to first start by dabbing it off and then when it's almost gone I use a circular motion to keep with the pattern already on the paper.
Once all the shaving cream is removed, you can see the swirly pattern that has been left behind by the re-inkers and shimmer paint. So cool!
I used the Bitty Bat Punch to get some swirly looking bats for this card. I think the shaving cream technique really adds some great visual interest!
I hope you found this helpful!
