August Stamp Club

Would you like an afternoon or evening every month for some 'me' time?  Imagine yourself making beautiful cards or scrapbook pages in a fun creative space that's away from the distractions of your own home.  If you're interested in learning new stamping techniques, creating projects like the ones on my blog, and want to meet new people...JOIN STAMP CLUB!  We're starting up again and have room for a few new members.

I am offering a Cardmaker’s Club as well as a Scrapbooker’s Club this year. I’ll also have 2 dates per month for you to choose from, one on a Sunday from 2-5pm, another on a weeknight from 7-10pm. I hope these new options will make it easier for those who wish to be a part of this great group to attend this year. The cardmaker’s club minimum order is $30 per month, the scrapbooker’s club minimum order is $50 per month. Number of months will depend on the number of members (8 members = 8 months, 12 members = 12 months). Sign up for both clubs and receive a $10 gift certificate. Each month a different member will be the hostess, which means you will get all the hostess benefits!!! That's a minimum of $20 in free product and a FREE level one stamp set! Please call or email me with any questions or to get yourself registered!

These are two of the projects the cardmakers made in August...
This month we focused on 'vintage' so the Puns from the Past stamp set and Newsprint designer series paper were PERFECT!

This card is super girlie and romantic with the Always stamp set, some ribbon flowers made with the Satin Ribbon, and some texture with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder.

I'm excited to have more ladies join in the fun!  Contact me today for more information, or to register.

Baby Room Decor Elements

Hi Everyone!

Aren't these just adorable!?!?!  While I was in BC staying with my sister I spent a morning applying these adorable Nursery Alphabet vinyl decor decals to white canvas for her.  The baby's due in 6 days, so hopefully these have made it onto the wall since I left!

These decals are so easy to add to canvas, mirrors, walls, frames...the list truly is endless.  I can't wait to show you what I do with the Halloween ones I have!

Glittery Gorgeous Serene Snowflakes

Hi Everyone!

Last night I was working on some cards for my upcoming Christmas Stamp-a-Stack (stay tuned for a date).  I saw a card similar to this on Splitcoast so I thought I'd give it a try.  I LOVE IT!!!  So much so that I decided to make 12 of them...

I'm usually not a huge fan of muliple glitters in one night, but this was totally worth it!  I think these just might be my personal Christmas cards this year!  I have loved the Serene Snowflakes stamp set since the moment I saw it, and still do!  Oh, the 'Peace on Earth' is from the Four the Holidays stamp set, another goodie!

Still deciding if one of them will make an appearance at the Stamp-a-Stack class...what do you think?

Holiday Mini Sneak Peek

Hello Everyone!

Last Friday when the girls and I were at Kim's place we had a chance to play with some new products from the Holiday Mini Catalogue!

I am IN LOVE with the new Candy Wrapper Die for the BIG SHOT!  For this cute little treat we also used the Tags til Christmas stamp set, Decorative Label Punch, and some Candy Cane Christmas designer series paper (which you can't see in this photo)

For the adorable snowman card we used the awesome new Northern Flurry embossing folder and the co-ordinating Northern Frost decorative strip die.  The sweet little snowman and sentiment are from the A Cute Christmas stamp set.

And Halloween is just around the corner, so we couldn't resist the new Spider Web embossing folder!  Now this is going to be super fun to play with!  Think punched spiders and lots of purple and green glitter!  Cool!

I have a stack of Holiday Mini Catalogues ready to send out to anyone in Canada who wants one!  Email your address to nicepeoplestamp@hotmail.com and I'll be sure to have one in the mail to you asap!

Downline Gifts

Hey Everyone!

I had such an amazing evening Friday night!  Some future downline members and I drove to the oh so crafty Kim's house for a demonstrator meeting and creative think tank session!  Since these girls couldn't join me at convention, I decided to make them some little gifties for our fun night out.  I used the In-Colour hostess level 1 paper stack for all the projects here, as well as some of the In-Colour Poly Stitch Ribbon, Extra Large Bird Punch, and the stamp I purchased at convention (for attendees only).  Amy's is Pear Pizzazz, Morgan's is Concord Crush, and Rachel's is Peach Parfait.  I am in severe lust with the In-Colours this year!

I would love to have YOU join me at fun events like this one!  Being a demonstrator is rewarding in so many ways you can't imagine.  It's a great way to meet new people and form friendships, and the extra income and product discount are a major bonus!  You can find more details HERE (my password is nicepeoplestamp), or give me a call or email any time!  I'd love to tell you about what Stampin' Up! has brought to my life.

Oh, we made some really cute projects at Kim's place that I'll show you tomorrow...see you then!

Just Believe

I'm baaaccckkkk...

Although I've been trying to update my blog pretty regularly, I've actually been on vacation for 2 weeks in BC with my family.  It was action packed and lots of fun, but I'm happy to be home and back to creating every day.  You don't realize how some ink and some stamps really are a part of your daily life until you don't have them!

This card is made with the Just Believe stamp set that we got FREE at convention this year!  Yet another reason to be a demonstrator....  ;)  I also used the fabulous new In-colours Poppy Parade and Pear Pizzazz.  That swirly beautiful piece is cut with none other than the BIG SHOT and the Top Note Die.

Well, I've got a class this afternoon to prep for, so I better run!

THE Owl Punch

Hey Everyone!

So are you looking at my title, and then looking at my card, and then looking back at my title again?  Thought so...  but believe it or not, this adorable little punch art man is made entirely out of the new Owl Punch!!!!

I was cruising the internet a little while ago and I happened upon Ellen Kemper's blog.  Wowsers, now there's a lady that takes punching to a whole new level!  Please go visit her blog here to see the steps to making this cute little guy.  Thanks Ellen for sharing your creative mind with all of us!

Holiday Lineup

Hey Everyone!

Too early for Christmas?  Too bad!  Hahaha!  I start making my Christmas cards early in August so I have an extremely large stash by the time I start doing craft fairs in early November.  Last year I sold every single last Christmas card I had made so I had to make some emergency ones at the last minute for my family!

The Holiday Lineup stamp set is super adorable!  I have wanted it for two years now, so when I saw that it made it into the new catalogue again it was on my first order!  I coloured the cute little elves with Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Crumb Cake, and Blush Blossom (this colour is actually retired in ink and paper, but the marker is still available!)  I also used some of the Jolly Holiday designer series paper, I just love the patterns in this collection!

So has anyone else started making their Christmas cards too???

Wedding Cake for Brad & Catherine

Hi Everyone!

This weekend has been action packed and crazy, but so so so fun!  My brother Brad married his lovely wife Catherine yesterday in the most beautiful ceremony, followed by the most amazing party!

When they asked me a few months ago to make their wedding cake I was so happy and truly honoured!  I know that you come here for stamping projects, but I really wanted to share with you what I've actually been up to all this week!

Cheers to You & Olives w/ Punches

Hi Everyone!

So my sister's wedding was last weekend, and today is my brother's wedding!  SO SO SO crazy busy here!!!!

I made this card for my new sister in law Catherine for her Shower/Stagette that we had on Thursday night.  It was super fun and she was such a good sport.  ;)

I think these little olives are just adorable!  I made them with the Small Oval Punch as well as the 3/4" Circle Punch.  I used some Old Olive and Real Red Ink to do some sponging to create a little dimention.  Then I added a few highlights with the Signo Gel Pen (a must have for taking your punched creations to the next level!).

PS  It's 2:30am and I still have to finish the wedding cake in the morning before I go and get my hair done....cross your fingers for me that everything goes well!!!!!

Awash w/ Flowers DRESSES!

Isn't this cute!?!?!!!  The little girl's dresses are made with the flower images from the Awash With Flowers stamp set!

I saw this card on the display boards at Convention, so sadly I have no clue who was the genius that came up with it.  I am truly amazed at the creativity here!

The faces, hands, and feet of the girlies are made with the All in the Family stamp set.  The sentiment is from the Oval All stamp set.  The bright summery colours are Tempting Turquoise, Pretty in Pink, and So Saffron.  I absolutely love these colours!

Awash w/ Flowers

Hi Everyone!

Sorry for the lack of post yesterday.  I have been elbows deep in pastillage, cake batter, and whipped cream for 2 days now getting my brother's wedding cake ready for this weekend.  Plus, I'm not working in my own kitchen, so everything seems to take twice as long!  Ah well, it's for my brother...

Today's card is a perfect one to have on hand for any occasion.  I sometimes make a bunch of cards without sentiments so I can add something appropriate when I need the card.  I think this one would make a lovely birthday, wedding, thank you, and the list goes on...

I have used the Awash with Flowers stamp set, which is such a beautiful and versitile set.  I even saw a card at convention where someone had made the flowers into little girls dresses.  I'll see if I can find the photo I took so I can post it for you tomorrow.  I stamped my outline image in Early Espresso and then stamped my flower blossoms in Pear Pizzazz and Blushing Bride.  The super cute polka dot paper is from the DSP paper stack that's the in the level 1 hostess offerings.  Top it off with the Poly Stitch Blushing Bride Ribbon and you've got it all done!

Have a lovely Wednesday!

Homegrown Vintage

Hey Everyone!

I hope you all enjoyed a lovely weekend with your families.  My step sister Roz got married this weekend, so I was lucky enough to be surrounded by family at a really great party!

Today's card is one I am going to make a bunch of for my husband to keep in his office to use for little notes and things to his colleagues and students.  I think they're just perfect for a chef to have on hand at all times!  :)

I used the Homegrown stamp set (so awesomely vintage and cool!) and I stamped the artichoke in Basic Black and then coloured it in with my Pear Pizzazz and Always Artichoke Stampin' Write Markers.  The 'homegrown' was stamped in Crumb Cake randomly on my backround paper to up the vintage factor.  I've used two different papers from the Newsprint Designer Series Paper as well as some Basic Black and Always Artichoke cardstock.  I did some sponging, added a couple of brads, and wrapped some hemp twine around my focal image and it was done!  This came together very easily as I had some awesome inspiration from 'ponygirl40'.  Thanks!

I hope some of you can find some inspiration in some of the things I have here on my blog one day.

Vintage Vogue w/ Rhinestones!!!

Hi Everyone!

So here it is, as promised, my card with Basic Rhinestones!!!

Ok, so portraying emotion in the blog world can be very difficult sometimes, so let me tell you this....everytime I see these rhinestones on anything they remind me of diamonds!  And yes, I'm one of those girly girls that likes shiny things, especially when they are princess cut surrounded in platinum!  (hint hint oh dear husband of mine)  Let's leave it at these rhinestones are amazing and I'm planning on putting them on EVERYTHING!

On to the real details, right?  I cut out the base of my card using the BIG SHOT and the Scallop Square Die.  Then I ran my piece of cardstock through the BIG SHOT again with Polka Dots embossing folder.  The beautiful flowers and border trim are from the Vintage Vogue stamp set and the sentiment is from the Define Your Life stamp set (one of my absolute favs!).  I did a little bit of paper piercing with my Mat Pack too.  Oh, and let's not forget that dreamy colour combo!  Daffodil Delight and Cherry Cobbler!

I hope you love those rhinestones just as much as I do!

Season of Friendship w/ NEW Designer Series Papers

Hey Everyone!

Happy Friday!  You know, it's weird.  After so many years of working a somewhat Monday to Friday job, now that I'm at home all day every day, Fridays suddenly have no meaning.  Anywhoo....

The Season of Friendship stamp set is one that you can turn to for pretty much any reason.  Pair it with bright colours and it's super springy, add some dark colours and you've got a fall card.  I really really love this set and I need to remember to do more with it.

I was cruising the web today looking at cards when I came across this one that I just knew I had to make my own version of.  Thanks to 'stampercamper' for the awesome idea!

I've used paper from two different packages of designer series paper, Newsprint and Jolly Holiday (which is totally good for ANY project, not just Christmas).  My colours are straight from the amazing Colour Coach...Baja Breeze, Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black, and I also added in some Wild Wasabi.  The adorable little Pearls are one of my new favourite things!  If you haven't seen them, check out p.188 of the catty.  You get 150 of these babies for $6.50!  Now that's alot of embellishing ladies!  Oh, and my project tomorrow uses the Basic Rhinestones, so you won't want to miss that!

Have a fabulous day and I'll see you back here tomorrow!

Recipe Box

Hey Stampers!

As I mentioned in an earlier post, this past Friday was my last day of work at the restaurant.  I have had the pleasure of working with my friend Morgan for 2 1/2 years, so I wanted to make something special for her that I knew she'd appreciate.

I have a recipe box that I made a few years ago that looks rather used and abused by now, but Morgan has always liked it.  I got my recipe box from a big chain craft store, and after numerous trips back and forth time and time again to look for another one, I finally found out that it had been discontinued by the company.  So, when my husband and I were driving through the US to Las Vegas a few weeks ago I was on the hunt for a recipe box I could decorate for Morgan.  I FINALLY found one!!!

I kept it pretty simple with some Satin Ribbon and the Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper.  I also used the dreamy new Early Espresso cardstock for my letters, which I cut out with the BIG SHOT and the Simple Letters Dies.  The images on the front and sides are actually cut out from one of the patterns in the designer paper.  Anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE cutting things out!!!

Of course I had to add a little gifty inside too.  The Friends Never Fade stamp set.  LOVE this one!

I hope she liked it!

Sock Monkey Baby

Hi Everyone!

Yep, ANOTHER new baby in this family! Well, not quite yet, but soon!!!! My sister is due in September, so I'm getting a head start on some baby projects for her. I think I might replace the sentiment with a 'thank you' and then make her a bunch of them to have ready for after her baby shower.

Ok, so are you wondering what designer series paper that is??? It's the Travel Journal paper from the Summer Mini Catalogue! There are so many awesome prints in this paper pack, get it before it's gone at the end of the month!!!
I used the Sock Monkey stamp set as well as the Family Phrases stamp set (for the sentiment). I did some paper piecing on my monkey with Night of Navy, Pumpkin Pie, and some of the DSP. I also added some stitching to him with the White Signo Gel Pen.

And don't forget those awesome punches! I used the Word Window as well as the Modern Label. This card came together quickly and easily thanks to the co-ordinating cardstock and DSP Stampin' Up! carries. I wouldn't trade that perfect colour matching for the world!

This One's for ME!!!

Hi Everyone

Well, Friday was my last day of work at the restaurant.  I was sad at some points during the day, and then excited the next moment in anticipation of what's to come.  Change is good...but scary sometimes too.

If you've been paying attention to my whining every time I post a picture of another beautiful frame my friend Morgan has made, then you know that I am THRILLED that this most recent frame of Morgan's is for ME (well, and my husband...)

Morgan is so talented and I am SO excited to say that she is going to be the newest member of my team!  Congratulations Morgan!  You will love what Stampin' Up! brings into your life!  Oh, and hello roomie!!!  Let's go to convention together next year!!!!
