Beautiful Blue Butterflies

Hi Everyone!

I am eagerly awaiting July 1st when all the new products in the 2010-2011 catalogue will be available for purchase, and I have to admit, it's killing me!!!  There are just SO many things I am looking forward to ordering...only 1 more sleep!

On to the card eh Allison...
Today's card is made with the dreamy new colours Marina Mist, Early Espresso and Daffodil Delight.  I've used the All a Flutter stamp set, Vintage Vogue stamp set, and Define Your Life stamp set (LOVE this one!).  I used the Mat Pack to do some paper piercing, which I am really learning to love, I just think it adds a nice handcrafted feel.

One more sleep...

Another Sweet Scoops Creation

Hi Everyone!

I just can't seem to leave this stamp set (Sweet Scoops) alone!  I just love it!  This little box is the perfect size for holding 3 x 3 cards.  It doesn't have any in it right now, but I think I'll make up a bunch of note cards and then give this away as a little gift.  My other Sweet Scoops project is HERE

Chef's Birthday

Happy Friday!

This week one of the chefs where I work celebrated a birthday.  (Happy 30th Kyle!!!)  I made him this quick and easy card with the Compliments to the Chef stamp set, Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set, and the Birthday Bliss stamp set.  (I know, lots of different sets, but I had an idea in my head and I just couldn't give up on it)  I also used the BIG SHOT and the Circles #2 die to create the plate that my cake and sentiment are sitting on.  I don't think you can really see it in the picture, but the silverware is stamped with Basic Black ink on a shimmy shiny silver cardstock.  I think this is one of those cards that is much nicer 'in real life' rather than a picture, but hopefully you get the idea.

Another Baby Girl!

I went in to work this morning to find out that one of the girls I work with has just had a baby girl!  I have worked with Jessica for 5 years, so I wanted to make a card for her that was really 'her'.  She's a girly girl with a classic 'pretty' style, so I hope my card delivered.  I have used some retired papers and embellishments here, so don't go gaga for them.  BUT the Cute and Cuddly stamp set is still available until the end of June, so get your order in quickly if this is on your wish list!  I think I'm on a paper piecing kick, because I did it again on the bear!

Congratulations Jessica and Chad!

Welcome Baby

Hi Everyone!

I am thrilled that my cousin Ryan and his wife Wanda have had a baby girl!  And what better time to do some more 'testing' of the new Baby Tees jumbo wheel from the new catalogue?  This time I did several layers of paper piecing to create the onsie, which is unfortunately hard to see in this picture.  And you know me, I love my BIG SHOT!  I die cut the letters with both the Billboard die and the Simple Letters dies.  The amazing colour palatte is straight out of the new Colour Coach.  This is such an awesome tool, you'll want one for sure.

Congratulations Ryan and Wanda!

Because I Care

Happy Monday!

So...I think this is my new favourite stamp set!  It's called Because I Care and it is a hostess level 1 set from the new Idea Book and Catalogue (released July 1st).  I am totally in love with the simplicity of it and how easy it is for a really stunning card to come together.  I've also used some of my other new favs!  New (or returning) colours!  Pink Pirouette, Wild Wasabi, Pear Pizzazz, Crumb Cake, and Regal Rose (not new).  I am so so so happy that there is now an ink pad for the Crumb Cake (which used to be called Kraft).  It was the perfect colour to sponge on my Presto Patterns Designer Series Paper.  If you don't have this paper yet, you are missing out.  (psst, it's in the Summer Mini Catalogue)  I love that all it takes is a little sponging, or a few splashes of shimmer paint or smooch spritz to reveal the beautiful patterns.  Oh, and love those little itty bitty tags!  They're from the Tiny Tags stamp set and punched out with the Jewelry Tag punch.  So what do you think?  Is this set a new favourite for you too?

Happy Father's Day!

WARNING!  Do NOT fall in love with this stamp set!

I rarely used retired stamp sets here on my blog, but today I wanted to show you the Father's Day card I made for my husband.  We don't have any kids, but the dog and the rabbit bought him a new BBQ for camping so I just had to drag out this paper I had made with this old BBQ set.  I will fill you in on a little secret though...there is an AWESOME BBQ set in the new catalogue, even better than this one!  So don't worry!

I made this cute little BBQ out of punches for the inside of the card. I think it's so darn cute!
We got him the Webber Q100 and if he puts it together today I'll post a picture.  I did lots of research and this is apparently THE camping BBQ, so hopefully he likes it.  I am thinking I should have maybe gotten the Q300 though, it's a little bigger...we'll see what he thinks.

Friends Never Fade

Hi Everyone!

Even though I have been insanely busy at my full time job as a Pastry Chef, I have been coming home and playing with my pre-order stuff from the new catalogue because I just can't seem to leave it alone!  I am LOVING the new stuff and I can't wait until you can all join me with the same excitement!  Today I used the Friends Never Fade stamp set and the co-ordinating Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper.  I really like having a stamp set that has paper to match because I feel you can really create a harmonious project.  I also tore open my packages of the new In-Colour Paper and Markers so I could use the dreamy new Pear Pizzazz.  If you like Certainly Celery, you are going to LOVE Pear Pizzazz!  The other colours I used here are Pumpkin Pie and Real Red.

If you're liking the new stuff and can't wait to order then be sure to come to my New Catalogue Kick-off Party - I'll be announcing the date next week!

Baby Tees

Hi Everyone!

I am SO excited that my pre-order stuff from the new catalogue arrived today!  This little baby onsie image from the Baby Tees Jumbo Wheel was too cute to leave un-inked!  I also used the new Cherry Cobbler and Daffodil Delight inks and paper and I LOVE them both!  The cherry cobbler is such a rich and deep colour.  It's one of my new favs for sure.  I also used the new Daffodil Delight 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon and it's so cute!  I'm loving my new stuff and I can't wait to show you more!

Another Sweet Scoops Card Purse

Hi Everyone!

I have been having so much fun using the Sweet Scoops stamp set from the Summer Mini Catalogue!  It's going to be so great for birthday cards and gifts!  I loved the other card purse I made so much that I decided to make another one with much brighter colours (gotta love the Island Oasis DSP!).  I also used Rose Red, Soft Seude and Tempting Turquoise cardstock.  I promise tomorrow's post won't use Sweet Scoops!  HA!

Faux Silk

Hi Everyone!

As promised, here is the technique page we did at Stamp Club this week.  And surprise surprise, we used my fav retiring stamp set Eastern Influences.  The colours are Cameo Coral and Sage Shadow, which are sadly sold out, but I think this would look stunning with Old Olive and Rose Red as well.  I will have another group of Stamp Club beginning in September, so if you have been liking the projects each month on my blog then you would LOVE stamp club!  I hope you'll join me!

Stamp Club Projects - Sweet Scoops

Hi Everyone!

I am so excited to share with you the projects from Stamp Club on Sunday!  It was a hot 29 degree day, so it was perfect to make something with the Sweet Scoops stamp set from the Summer Mini Catalogue.  This little card purse fits cards and envelopes perfectly and I think it would be an adorable gift.  We did two techniques on the project as well:  rock and roll, and kissing.  Lots of the girls had not done these before, so it was a great learning day for them.  Want to create your own?  I used the colours Pretty in Pink, Soft Seude, Bashful Blue, and Very Vanilla.  I LOVE the polka dot ribbon and sadly it's retiring, so be sure to swing by my online store to pick up some of that before it's all gone.  Click HERE to shop!

I'll be back tomorrow to share our technique page from Stamp Club.  It's Faux Silk with my favourite retiring stamp set....any guesses???

Flip Flop Scrapbook

Phew, it's Saturday!  I've had a crazy few weeks at work (with another busy week to come) and I've had lots of Stampin' Up! events recently to keep me moving on my evenings and weekends so I'm ready for a day with my husband...and usually he's the busy one!  ha!

Today I'm showing you another version of the Flip Flop Scrapbooking Kits I've had for sale at my events recently.  This one has a beautiful wedding theme, but it could easily be a baby girl book instead.  They've been selling like hot cakes!  I hope you like it!

Simple Scallop Square Card

Hi Everyone!

First I'd like to thank everyone who came to the events I had in Edmonton this weekend.  I am very fortunate to have so many wonderful people to share my passion with.  It was also great to meet some new people and introduce them to the fabulous world of Stampin' Up!

The card I'm showing you today is one that my downline Rachel and I came up with for her to make at her very first workshop!  To get the awesome card shape we used the BIG SHOT and the Scallop Square Die (if you don't already have the BIG SHOT you are totally missing out!)We used the Priceless Stamp Set as well as the Petal Pizzazzz Stamp Set for the vines and flowers.  We then added our sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and punched it out with the Modern Label Punch.  Our colours are Rose Red, Always Artichoke, and Whisper White.  I think it's a great simple card, perfect for introducing newbies to stamping!

Good luck with your workshop Rachel!

RETIRING STAMP SETS, ACCESORIES, AND WALL DECOR

Good Morning Everyone!

It's that time of year again! Every June 1st Stampin' Up! releases the last chance lists of items that will be retiring at the end of the month in anticipation of the new catalogue (which is released July 1st).

The list of accessories is very long this year as many colours of paper, ribbon, brads, etc are leaving due to the colour renovation. Some accessories are available at a discout, and all accessories are while supplies last, so be sure to get your order in asap for those items.

There is also a list of retiring stamp sets. Some of these are my absolute favourites, so be sure to check out this list as well. The page numbers are listed in the left column so it is easy to refer to your catalogue to find the image of the stamp set.

Many definately decorative wall decor items are retiring as well and ALL are 25% off! Some great deals to be had here for sure!

Because of the urgency of retiring items I will be placing orders periodically throughout the month of June. However, because the accessories are while supplies last, be sure to get your orders in asap.  Online ordering is available to you 24/7 through my Stampin' Up! website HERE just scroll to the bottom of the page and click 'shop now'. (It's on the right side)

June is also a fabulous month to host a workshop! Contact me today to book as dates are filling up quickly!

So grab a cup of coffee, sit back and relax, and ponder the lists:
