Sweet (and Spooky) Treats

Hi Everyone!

Halloween is almost here!  Whoo hoo!

I had to drop something off at my neighbor's house last night and they have two little ones that I think will get a real kick out of these fun Halloween treats.  I've used the Sweet Centers stamp set with the co-ordinating Sweet Treat Cups.  This stamp set is awesome!

Pop-up Cake Die...not just for birthdays!

Hi Everyone!

My friend Rachel bought the BIG SHOT recently so tonight she came over to play with her new toys!  We had such a blast together!  I've got to make time for my girlfriends more often!

So one of the dies Rachel got for her BIG SHOT is the Pop-up Cake Die.  I just love this one!  At first it may not seem very versitile, but believe you me, this can be made into any occasion!  We used the Cast-a-Spell Designer Series Paper for the layers of the cake and Pumpkin Pie Cardstock for the base.  Then we decorated the whole thing with embossed little bats from the Batty for You stamp set and made a moon out of punches.  I am really happy with what we came up with.  Sometimes the best projects are collaborations!  Thanks for a great night Rach!

Long Distance Gifts

Hi Everyone!

Christmas is sneaking up upon us and it will be here before we know it, so I'm getting started on my holiday gift holders.  I have family all across Canada, so this is a beautiful way to send a gift and keep the postage rate low.  This year I'm decorating the Silver Skinny Tins so I can place a gift card in the pocket or even better, some hockey or ballet tickets!  Once the tickets or gift card is removed the recipient has a beautifully decorated tin to keep!

The stamp set I've used here is called Serene Snowflakes from the Holiday Mini Catalogue.  I also used the Yuletide Christmas stamp set for the lovely Merry Christmas saying on the front.  Because I'm not particularly fond of my handwriting I used the Calendar Alphabet & Numbers stamp set for my message, something I do quite often.  I've used Kraft and Close to Cocoa Cardstock.  My ink choices are Mellow Moss, Close to Cocoa, and Certainly Celery.  I've also jazzed it up with some Mini Library Clips and Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon.  I had such a blast creating this lovely little tin that I'm going to make up a few kits that will be available for purchase at my November craft events.  I'll be making a bunch of different kits to choose from!  Cost will be $10.

Allison

P.S.  If you have your heart set on purchasing one of these kits, please let me know to have one ready for you.  I wouldn't want to leave anyone disappointed when they sell out.

A NEW LOOK!

Hi Everyone!

So it is officially fall here in Calgary (ok, it's been fall for a while, I've just been in denial!).  I woke up to rain this morning and just looked out the window and it is snowing like crazy!

So with the coming of the season I decided to change the look of my blog.  Let me know what you think!

The Nutcracker

Hi Everyone!

My Mom and I both have large collections of Christmas nutcrackers so when I saw this stamp set I just had to have it!  This is the Yuletide Christmas set from the holiday mini and it's just adorable.  I just thought my little nutcracker would be so cute all coloured in, so I used my Stampin' Write Markers to add a bunch of colour.  The papers I've used here are Garden Green, Summer Sun, Real Red, and Whisper White.  I also used an embossing folder and my BIG SHOT to make the lovely raised swirly background.  The nutcrackers are stamped in Chocolate Chip Ink.  Enjoy your Friday everyone!

Advent Calendar

Hi Everyone!

The month of December is going to be here before we know it and what better way to prepare for its arrival that make this cute Advent Calendar.  I made this using the Matchbox Die and the BIG SHOT.  The colours I've used are Real Red, Garden Green, Night of Navy, and Summer Sun.  Of course my favourite stamp set this season, Delightful Decorations with its matching Ornament Punch.

I can't wait to fill this full of treats and gifts!  I'm sure my husband will love it!

My Fabulously Creative Friend

Hi Everyone!

So isn't this card the cutest darn thing?!  My very wonderful and very creative friend Kristine Burns hosted a card buffet on Saturday and this is one of the cards we made.  She taught me a new technique too!  We misted the Night of Navy Cardstock with Shimmer Paint that had been diluted with rubbing alcohol and put in a spritzer bottle.  She's one smart cookie!  Thanks Kristine for sharing your talent!

Trendy Trees

Hi Everyone!

Happy Saturday!  This is a small little card that I made with some scraps I had leftover from some other projects.  No scrap is too small for me to save...I think I have a paper hoarding problem!

So the stamp set I used for the trees is called Trendy Trees.  This is one of those stamp sets that I turn to when I need something cute and 'trendy' or something masculine.  The colours you use really dictate the feel of it.  I just love sets like this one that are so versatile.  I've used a saying from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and punched it out with the Modern Label Punch, a must have for anyone who has the stamp set I think!  The colours I've used are Garden Green, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, and Close to Cocoa.

Christmas is Coming!

Hi Everyone,

I think it's no secret that I totally love Christmas.  It probably has a lot to do with all the crafting possibilities!  ;)

Not everyone is into the really traditional red and green Christmas, so I decided to try to make a Christmas card using colours that are far from traditional!  I used the Tree Trimmings stamp set for the adorable ornaments, and the Short & Sweet stamp set for the saying.  My not so traditional colours for the ornaments are Taken with Teal and Perfect Plum.  I really liked how this turned out and I hope you do to!

BYE BYE SUMMER....

Hi Everyone,

So it's already snowed in Calgary this season and tonight the wind is blowing so hard I think it might take the siding right off the house!  It really feels like summer is totally over.

So I was sitting here remembering the summer and all the great things the warm weather brings, like gardening.  My Nanna and Poppa have played a huge role in making me appreciate the value of a pretty landscape.  (Although, they may wonder if I ever payed attention to anything they said from the state of my rose bushes this summer!)  Anyways, get on with it right?  Well, as I was thinking about summer I remembered this card I made and I thought I would share it with you.  I made these invitations for an open house I had this past July.  The little pot is Chocolate Chip Cardstock and I used the Scallop Edge Punch for some added detail around the rim.  The saying is from the Family Phrases stamp set and flowers from the Petal Pizazzz stamp set.  I've stamped the flowers in the beautiful colours from the Soft Subtles colour family.

I miss summer already...

Sparkly Beaded Pen

Hi Everyone!
Here's the cool sparkly beaded pen that will be included in the Christmas Suitcase Class.  (Sorry about not having it in the photo yesterday.)  This is such an awesome technique because you can make these pens with any of the awesome Stampin' Up! designer series papers, so they'll match any project!  I just love em!  Have a great day everyone and I'll be back tomorrow.

Delightful Christmas Tags

Hi Everyone!

I have been having a blast this week creating projects for my upcoming Crazy for Christmas Event in Edmonton, November 7th & 8th.  All those who attend will be receiving these cute gift tags to adorn their holiday projects as a special gift from me for attending!  Would you like to come?  Email me at nicepeoplestamp@hotmail.com for details.

The stamp set I used here is called Delightful Decorations.  It's my favourite this year because it has a punch!  If you know me...you know how much I love punches!  This punch is called Ornament.  Both of these products can be found in the Holiday Mini Catalogue, as well as the Shimmer Paint that I've used to make these shiny.

I hope you can join me in Edmonton November 7th & 8th for two amazing days of crafting!
