Chalkboard Christmas Tags: Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop! Craft fair season is fast approaching and I've been working feverishly to create some handmade pretties. So today I'm here to share with you some of the Christmas gift tags I've created.
I love the fun chalkboard look of these, and they will look fabulous on your wrapped presents.
If you've never done the chalkboard technique before, it's really quite easy.

  • cut a piece of black cardstock to the size of your choice
  • stamp your image in VersaMark Ink and sprinkle with White Embossing Powder
  • heat set the embossing powder with the Heat Tool
  • once cool, randomly sponge on some Whisper White Craft Ink to mimic chalkboard eraser marks
  • embellish as desired

To create the frame around my chalkboard I inked up the Hardwood stamp with Baked Brown Sugar Ink and stamped it on Baked Brown Sugar cardstock. Then it was simply a matter of cutting my stamped image in to strips and glueing them around my chalkboard.
A showstopping tag can really make a mediocre wrapping job go unnoticed, so keep that in mind when you are wrapping up your holiday gifts. :)
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I love being able to share my creativity with you.

Now let's hop on over to Barbara to see what she's created. I know she'll wow us!

Catching Up

Hi friends. Have you missed me? I've just spent the most lovely weekend away in Banff as I hosted my Inkin' Elite Fall Retreat. We stamped, we ate, and boy did we have fun! So much fun in fact that a few of us decided we better stay for an extra day. :)

I didn't take many pictures (guess I was too busy having fun), but here's a little glimpse inside what we were up to.
Here I am about to leave the house with my car packed to the roof with all my stamping supplies!
And this is the crazy awesome mess I discovered on Saturday morning when I went to go prepare breakfast for my 22 guests. Let's just say that we were up LATE, and I was the only one there at 9am. :)
I always have a fully stocked candy bar Saturday night to keep the ladies high on sugar to craft through to the wee hours. I had a fabulous weekend and I can't wait to do it all again!

And then last night I had my Cards and Cupcakes Class. After searching through hundreds of recipes from when I was a Pastry Chef, I decided to make Caramel Apple Cupcakes with Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting. Yummo!
If you missed it don't worry, Cards and Cupcakes is on the last Tuesday of every month, with the next class on Tuesday, November 25th @ 7pm. You make 6 cards (2 each of 3 designs) and get to feast on homemade cupcakes. FREE with a minimum order, or pay just $15. Contact me to hold your spot at my November Cards and Cupcakes today!

Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Project Life Accessory Packs = Cute & Quick Cards: Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop! Today I'm here to share two cute and quick cards made using the Seasonal Snapshot Project Life Accessory Pack.
The Stampin' Up! Project Life Accessory Packs are a cardmaker's secret weapon and one of our catalogue's best kept secrets. Seriously, these two cards came together in a matter of moments.
The only items I've used outside of the accessory pack are some Notecards.  Oh, and I added a staple to the 'Thankful' card, but you don't really need to. Plus I still have LOADS of accessories to use. These cards didn't even put a dent in my supplies.
Want some fab news? There are currently 7, yes SEVEN, Project Life Accessory Packs available from Stampin' Up! Check 'em out!

I made a set of six cards with the Playground Accessory Pack a few weeks ago.  I'll share those samples tomorrow so be sure to check back in with me.

Now head on over to my friend Barbara and see what fabulous creation she has to share this week.

Thanks so much for visiting today. See you soon!
