A Gorgeous Grunge Thanks

Hi friends. Confession time. I have LOTS of stuff to share with you. I have SO many projects that haven't been posted to my blog, and what's worse, is that I have no excuse! Today's card is one I created wwwwwaaaaayyyyy back in June for a challenge (there was a mix up with that and I had to create something else), but totally forgot to share it with you.
Word thinlits dies are SUPER popular right now, and I'm happily on the bandwagon enjoying every minute. These Greetings Thinlits can be found the the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue, and there's also a 'cheers' and 'hello' in this sweet set.

To create the star frame I simply used two of the Stars Framelits, using the smaller one to cut a hole from the centre of a larger star. This is a fun trick to make a frame of any shape.

And that lovely fantastical spatter - from Gorgeous Grunge of course. This stamp set is a must own for any collection!

You can find all of the products I used to create this card, with links to my Canadian Online Stampin' Up! Shop at the bottom of this post.

Tomorrow is the LAST DAY to register for the Notecard Class on September 10th. All class details HERE.

Punch Art School Bus: #tgifc18

Happy Friday friends! It's TGIF Challenge time, are you going to play along? This week it's the remix. I LOVE this challenge. It's always fun to see what my friends on the design team have chosen to create with two or more challenges from this month.
I'm working with the colour challenge and also the school theme challenge. The Daffodil Delight in the colour challenge made me think of a school bus. Well, I don't have a school bus stamp, so it was time to get creative with punches.
Pretty cute, eh? The base of the school bus is the Note Tag Punch, and then it was just a matter of adding a few circles for wheels and lights, and also some rectangles for windows and a door. Viola - an adorable yellow school bus!
Another little touch of academic cuteness is the Project Life Grid Card I used as one of my card elements. Don't be afraid to use your Project Life by Stampin' up! supplies for more than just your memory keeping! They make awesome cards, home decor, and so much more!

You'll find a full list of supplies from my Canadian Online Stampin' Up! Shop at the bottom of this post. If I've inspired you today, I hope you'll choose to shop with me.

Don't forget, the deadline is nearing for this great class!

Market Fresh Watercolour Cards: Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop

Hello friends. Welcome to the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team blog hop! As summer wraps up here in Canada it seems like perfect timing to share some projects using the Market Fresh stamp set. This one just screamed 'watercolour me'!
It's no secret that I love watercolouring, and I've shared a few tips and tricks in the past, but today you're getting a full on picture tutorial. Let's watercolour that adorable strawberry together.

Assemble your supplies.
Real Red, Blushing Bride, Cucumber Crush, Wild Wasabi & Bermuda Bay Classic Inks, Aqua Painter, Watercolour Paper, StazOn Black Ink Pad, Market Fresh Stamp Set
1. Stamp image on Watercolour Paper with StazOn Black Ink. Using your Aqua Painter, apply Cucumber Crush and Blushing Bride Ink to the areas shown. These are what I call my highlight and lowlight areas.
2. Apply Real Red and Wild Wasabi in the areas shown and blend with the colour you added in step one. Be sure you don't completely cover the Blushing Bride, you want there to be some very light areas. Allow to dry for a minute or two.
3. Apply Bermuda Bay Ink to the banner portion of the image. Take cues from the stamp itself and add more colour where there are shading lines present and fade toward the middle. Allow to dry. Cut out.
4. Adhere your fabulous watercoloured strawberry to your card front.
5. (not shown) Give yourself a high five - you did it!!

You'll see that my strawberry image is not perfectly stamped. Remember that watercolour paper is textured, so don't worry about these imperfections, it's part of the organic feel of watercolouring.

And of course once I start watercolouring I don't tend to stop. Here's a few more:
The lettuce is my favourite image in this set. We have lots of chef and foodie friends, so this one will get lots of love for their birthdays!
And these grapes will be perfect for thank you cards after we visit their restaurants and homes for some amazing meals.

I hope I've inspired you to try watercolouring if you haven't before, or given you a little hint or two to improve your current watercolour skills. It's NOT hard, and the best part is that every single time you do it, it turns out differently!

You'll find all the supplies to start your watercolouring adventures in my Canadian Online Stampin' Up! Shop. You can click the links at the bottom of this post to be redirected to my store.

But before you go, let's go and see what Barbara has to share this week!
