Big News Baby Card

Hi friends! I made this card sooooo long ago, and totally forgot to share it, but I kinda think it was worth the wait.

For today's project I've paired up the Big News and Barnyard Babies stamp sets for a crazy cute baby card. This one is headed off to some very special friends that just welcomed a little boy. Don't forget to send all those pretty cards you make too!
This little lamb from the Barnyard Babies stamp set it so sweet. Instead of colouring him in, I stamped one on Whisper White cardstock and one on Smoky Slate cardstock, cut out the pieces I wanted in each colour, and glued them together. This fun technique is called paper piecing.
You'll find a full list of supplies I've used at the end of this post, and all things crafty in my Canadian Online Stampin' Up! Shop! If you are inspired by my projects, I hope you'll choose to shop with me. :)

Birthday Celebration Class: #imbringingbirthdaysback

Hello friends. I have some REAL talk for you today. Something important. Something epic. Something I'm SO proud of.

If you're visiting my blog, chances are you are a paper crafter. You have a special gift, and it's time you shared it. Shannon West from the Stampin' Up! home office has created an amazing movement to bring birthday's back (you can see her recent talk show appearance HERE), and I want you and I to join her.

Social media is killing birthday wishes. Our post boxes sit filled with flyers and bills, but not a single birthday card. Let's bring birthday's back!

To kick off this incredible movement, I've designed a birthday card class to get you started!
Birthday Celebration Class

Birthday Blooms Watercolour Card: Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop

Hi friends and welcome to the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team blog hop! These ladies never disappoint when it comes to stunning creativity, so I know you're in for a fabulous blog hop!

My project today uses a beautiful new stamp set that you'll find in the 2016 Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalogue called Birthday Blooms.
140658 Birthday Blooms Clear-Mount Stamp Set

140655 Birthday Blooms Wood-Mount Stamp Set
First I made this card. Watercolouring, heat embossing, some fussy cutting. All the things that make my heart pitter patter.
Watercolouring with the Aqua Painter and my ink pads is so therapeutic. For this flower I used Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette, Wild Wasabi, and Cucumber Crush. I love the organic look watercolouring brings to any project.
You can see that the flower hangs off the card quite a bit, so it was time to make an oversized envelope with the Envelope Punch Board. I didn't use any adhesive on the envelope, but created a decorative belly band to hold the envelope closed instead.
Wait, Stampin' Up! doesn't have black doilies...or do they? Turn those Metallic Doilies over, sponge on the ink colour of your choice, and you have whatever colour doily you want! Super easy!

You'll find all the products I used to create this project in my Canadian Online Stampin' Up! Shop. They're also listed at the end of this blog post.

Now it's time to go visit the wonderful Amy O'Neill! She's so crazy talented.

Have a marvellous day my friends!

Project Life by Stampin' Up! - Memories in the Making: Sale-a-bration International Blog Hop

Hi friends! Today I'm blog hopping with some amazing Stampin' Up! demonstrators to bring you some fab ideas for the items available during the Sale-a-bration promotion.

If this is your first visit to my blog, let me introduce myself! My name is Allison Okamitsu and I'm located in Calgary, AB Canada. I'm an avid paper crafter and lover of all things Stampin' Up! I also cherish memory keeping and documenting life, so when Stampin' Up! introduced an exclusive line of Project Life I was thrilled! Let's take a closer look at the Memories in the Making Collection, as well as the Memories in the Making Specialty Card Collection that is only available during Sale-a-bration (until March 31).
Project Life Memories in the Making Photopolymer Bundle
Project Life Memories in the Making Specialty Card Collection
PriceFREE during Sale-a-bration with qualifying order!
You are going to LOVE what you can accomplish with the simplicity of Project Life by Stampin' Up!, and this collection is super versatile.
I like to combine both traditional 12x12 layouts and Project Life pocket style documenting. Plus my 12x12 layouts come together SO quickly using these supplies!
The Memories in the Making Specialty Card Collection (only available as part of the Sale-a-bration promotion) makes this layout a total stunner. The turquoise card, yellow card, dotted photo overlay, and red ombre card are all from this specialty collection.
What's so fun with these specialty cards is that you can alter them to make them your own. The ombre card came with clear stripes already embossed on it, and then I just sponged on some Watermelon Wonder Ink to make the red ombre stripes - SO easy!
With pocket style documenting, this layout came together in minutes, seriously! If you have a stack of photos in your closet, trapped on your computer, or stored on your phone, I cannot stress enough how easy the Project Life by Stampin' Up! system is to get those photos in books and the memories documented. The Memories in the Making Bundle includes everything you need to make a stunning layout.
This fun gold metallic photo overlay is from the Memories in the Making Specialty Card Collection. It really adds a fun focus on this cute photo!

So you want to give Project Life by Stampin' Up! a try? GREAT! I have an event on Thursday, February 11th that's just for you!
