Six Sided Sampler & Perpetual Birthday Calendar Card: #tfigc04

Hi friends! Thanks so much for visiting my blog today. We have a fun new challenge over at TGIF, I hope you'll play along!
So for this challenge I decided to break down the inspiration into pieces. I saw yellow, flowers, and a green grid…time to get to work.
One of the stamp sets I used is called Perpetual Birthday Calendar, and you guessed it…it's intended to be used with the Perpetual Birthday Calendar Kit. However it has the most beautiful watercolour wash stamp and so many perfect accent stamps. You need to look past the intended use for this stamp set and embrace the beauty of these images, it's totally a must own!
The sentiment and that adorable hexagon is from the Six Sided Sampler stamp set, another gooder.
There are lots of cute elements on this card. A little bit of a doily here, some Bermuda Bay Sequins there.
And I think I may have discovered my new favourite colour combo:
I've been having a great time experimenting with the new Stampin' Up! 2015-2017 In Colors! You'll spot Cucumber Crush and Watermelon Wonder on this card.
Are you counting down the days until the NEW Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue? Join me for a super fun party to celebrate!
Hope to see you soon!

This tutorial is the reason I've gone through so much of that paper. I just can't stop making these adorable cards! Plus, two of the card designs hold gift cards, which I'm always sending!

Have a fab day, and don't forget to swing by the Clearance Rack  - always a few smokin' deals to be had there too!

You've Got This & A Whole Lot of Lovely Card: Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop! This week the team is sharing the projects that Stampin' Up! will be featuring on their corporate Facebook page, which is a very exciting day for all of us! My card has LOTS of up and coming products from the new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue that I know you're going to love, including two new In Colors (Mint Macaron & Tip Top Taupe) and two new stamp sets too (You've Got This & A Whole Lot of Lovely).
To create this card I first stamped and heat embossed my images and sentiment on Shimmery White Cardstock with Black Embossing Powder. Then it was time to play with my Aqua Painter and the Mint Macaron and Tip Top Taupe Inks. I added lots of colour to some of the flower petals and very little to others. I love that the shimmery beauty of the cardstock subtly shows through the watercolour.  After the watercolouring was dry, I added some little splotches of distressed dots with the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and Tip Top Taupe Ink Pad. It ended up being quite the stunner.
I've been having a little bit of a love fest in my stamp room the last few weeks with lots of the new goodies from the upcoming Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. I've made lots of fun new samples to share at my upcoming launch party, so if you're in the Calgary area I hope you'll join me!
Now before you email me your RSVP, please go and visit my friend Barbara. I know she'll have a fabulous project to share with you!

Catching up on life & a Bold and Bright Butterfly Basics Card

Hi friends. It's a long weekend in Canada and of course here in Calgary it's pouring rain. I had so many glorious plans of cleaning up my garden, fixing our backyard from a recent excavation, and helping watching my hubby build a new shed in our backyard. Ah well, these things can wait.

Life around here has been pretty crazy actually, so it'll be nice to have a quiet weekend to craft and watch movies. What's so crazy you ask? Well, as you probably know, we developed our basement at the end of last year and beginning of this year for my Stampin' Up! business. I have a pretty new office, stunning new studio for my classes, and a very itty bitty storage space - this is a problem. Now the rest of our house looks like an episode of hoarders, which is why we need this new shed so we can store some of this stuff. The clutter is making me pretty crazy. Ok, fast forward a month or so. The 90 foot retaining wall on one side of our property failed and our backyard was literally in the alley beside our house. I was STRESSED! So we called the fab contractors that developed our basement and they came to the rescue and replaced the retaining wall and fence. So now we fast forward one more month. There is a leak in our ensuite bathroom. Seriously. So it looks like we will have another home renovation just around the corner. Exciting as it is to have all these new spaces in our home and a brand new retaining wall, this stuff is expensive. It's been a few years since my hubby and I have had a vacation together and this summer we had plans to go back to Japan and do some more exploring of the beautiful country where my husband grew up. Sadly that's no longer and option and he will be going alone and I will be staying home. I do have my annual trip to Stampin' Up! Convention to look forward to though.

So why the rambling? Well, in the midst of all these crazy expensive things happening something pretty amazing started to happen too. As the months have rolled by and I've been working hard in my Stampin' Up! business, I've been getting closer and closer to earning the Stampin' Up! Grand Vacation. A Mediterranean Cruise! I'm not there yet, I still need $600 in sales, but I am SO CLOSE. I am ecstatic, and so thankful to each and every one of you that has chosen me as your demonstrator. Stampin' Up! truly is my passion and I love to share my creativity with you. All the stress of these crazy expenses around here seem to melt away every time I think of being able to tell my husband that I have earned a vacation for us that there is no way we could have afforded right now. It really means the world to me and I thank you for your part in making it happen. So like I said, I'm not there yet, but I have faith that I will get there soon and I'll keep you updated.

Ok, enough of the chatter. If you're still reading this, thank you. You're a die hard fan and I love you. Now let's look at something pretty.
This card is one that I've been forgetting to share for quite some time. It was featured on the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog earlier this year. I love the Butterfly Basics stamp set and the versatility it has. I've used it to create soft and pretty projects, but I'm loving it paired with bold and bright colours too!
To create that pretty heart I punched a piece of watercolour paper with the Sweetheart Punch and watercoloured it with my Aqua Painter and Real Red Ink. I really love the bold statement it adds.
Thanks so much my friends for all you do to support me in this job I love so much.
