Climbing Orchid Hello Card

Hello friends. Today is the day I start the long trek home from Thailand. Will you send me some good luck for clear skies and uneventful travel?

Today's card is one that I can see myself replicating many times. It's easy, but has impact. The best kind, right?
The Climbing Orchid Bundle is incredible. The detail in the flower petals is extraordinary. It's also a huge time saver that there's dies to cut them all out too! I've added some texture to the background with Embossing Paste and the Pattern Party Decorative Masks. It's a subtle white on white look that leaves all the attention of the orchid. See the pot that orchid is in? You can make one in a SNAP with the Best Badge Punch. Simply cut off the bottom and top of your punched shape, and BOOM - flower pot!

Colorful Seasons Card: Artisan Design Team Blog Hop

Hello my friends and welcome to the official Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team blog hop! We are a group of 20 Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the globe who have been chosen to share our creations with you. Thank you for visiting me in Canada!

My card today uses the stunning Colorful Seasons Bundle of stamps and dies. It's a large stamp set with tons of images and sentiments, and an absolutely fab set of framelits. Check it out:
I've been using this set a lot for my #CardsAcrossCanada campaign. I hope you'll choose to join me in my card sending mission. Full details HERE.

Now let's talk details on today's card.
To create this background I first did some watercolouring with my Aqua Painter and a selection of blue inks on Watercolour Paper. While it was drying, I used the solid maple leaf die to make my own mask with a piece of Window Sheet. It's so easy to create your own masks with any die and the Window Sheets. I love them! Next it was time for a layer of Embossing Paste on top of that watercolouring. I love this background technique and I hope you'll give it a try too.

There is a full list of supplies used on today's card at the end of this blog post with clickable links to my Canadian Online Stampin' Up! Shop.
